1. Training Objectives

Students will be able to systematically learn the basic principles of economics, gain professional knowledge of financial theories, policies and systems, and basic business skills; know the development situation of domestic and overseas society, economy and finance; gain familiarity with the domestic and overseas financial systems, policies; understand regulations, the operating rules of the financial market and the circumstance of financial institutes so as to assume practical professional work in financial institutes like banks, securities companies and insurance companies; to raise capital and invest for companies and to do financial management and research work in governmental and research departments.

2. Training Requirement

Students in this major learn basic theories and knowledge about money and banking, international finance, securities, investment and insurance and are trained with related professional courses to attain the basic ability of handling practical work in the field of finance. Graduates of this major should possess the following knowledge and abilities:
1. Basic theories and knowledge of finance.
2. Basic ability of dealing with the business of banks, securities, investment and insurance.
3. Be familiar with Chinese financial plans, policies and regulations.
4. Know advanced theory, research and development trends of the major.
5. Learn the basic ways of document search and data inquiry; attain the ability of researching and working.
6. Master a foreign language with the basic competence of listening, speaking, reading, writing and translating; able to do foreign-related work with the help of computer.

3. Educational System and Credits

The education of this major lasts for four years with total credits of 155; it offers the bachelor degree in economics.
